Andrew Harrison: composer | pianist
“I believe that music can be most powerful when reflecting upon and critiquing the broader world of its conception. Whilst I always strive to create music that stands alone on its artistic merit, I also endeavour to tell a story of the culture and society that surrounds me.
My process of composition is an inclusive one, accessing a broad palette of creative approaches and concepts. I’m constantly surprised by what arises from the collision between my experiences in film scoring, jazz and contemporary art music.
Whether scoring for a poignant moment captured on film, or writing for a chamber ensemble or improvisers, I aim to compose music that is engaging, challenging and entertaining”.
